Also we survived as a country before public education because of WAY too may reasons to put in an ask. But there is one that is crucial. Limited voter pool: The reason why white, male, large-area land owners were the only ones who could initially vote in this country? They were usually the only ones with a halfway decent education. As you allow more people to vote, more people need the education to do so. This is not an opinion; this is how a healthy, free democracy works.
