Yeah, see, the thing is, Catholics don't believe that we earn our own salvation. They believe are saved when the Holy Spirit is invited into our lives. So no Confirmation wouldn't necessarily mean no salvation--in fact, Catholics believe any Christian baptism is valid. But Confirmation does mean you get to commit your life to Christ, or renew that commitment, which is a beautiful thing. Also, Catholics don't claim to know a single thing about where God puts us/babies after we die.
